ADVANCED HAIR STUDIO
Our love for trying various hair styles on different occasions to enhance our look is natural. The way we style our hair for office will not work for a party or a social do; from a high ponytail to a twisted bun, or a half up bow to easy Boho braid, or simply showing off your long, rope braid, or a top knot; all of them need hair products like Edge control which control the edges & give them a perfect look.
Edge control products have become a must-have these days in hair styling. Edge control does literally what it says- keeps the edges in control and gives a sleek look for a long time. The fragile, baby hair which refuse to stay in place, giving a clumsy look to otherwise absolutely amazing hair do, are tamed by this wonderful product.
The market today is flooded by a number of edge control products but experts advise against a regular use of these. An occasional use of edge control products may not be harmful but frequent use of these leads to irreparable damage by breaking off the edges.
Our edges are the most fragile area of our hair therefore if it’s worked on too regularly, it creates a tension which may lead to breakage over the time.
Edge control products are generally of a thick consistency as their function is to hold and sleek down the edges. The heaviness of such products tends to clog the pores on the scalp, making it difficult to breathe, hampering the health of the follicles.
Another reason to keep in mind is that it is equally essential to provide the required nourishment to edges if you want to keep hair loss and thinning at bay, but these products do just the opposite.
Edge control products leave a thick film of the hair due to which shampoo can’t penetrate once the strands get wet. To overcome this, dry shampoo is required which strips not only such stubborn products but also robs the essential oils and moisture from the scalp, leaving it extremely dry. The hair treatment for such a problem is deep conditioning after every wash.
Like all other things Edge control products also come with a price specially if overused or frequently used. Most experts suggest very limited use of these products as it not only negatively impacts the delicate edges but also causes grave damage to the scalp. The ingredients used in these products are strong & harsh, such as propanol and alcohol, thus causing dehydration to your scalp and strands. If used frequently, these thick products will result in hair loss and thinning.
Hair experts suggest use of normal hair gel or spray to tame your notorious baby edges; as these can easily be rinsed clear with normal shampoo and water. These also cause dryness but can be controlled by normal conditioners.
