ADVANCED HAIR STUDIO
Hair Fall is quite a growing problem in the 21st century. Some people try to hide it, and some people don’t mind it. There are many factors that can lead to hair fall. Family history and genetic predisposition being the most common ones. If your family has a history of hair loss and baldness, then you might certainly get hair fall problems as well. Some other reasons for hair loss include:
Lack of proper nutrition intake- Unhealthy diets results into hair loss. That is you don’t get enough nutrition that your body needs, it can lead to hair loss.
Stress- Stress and hair loss are often closely related. Telogen Effluvium is the term used to describe hair loss problems that occur due to stress, which results in excessive hair loss and disrupts the natural hair growth.
Medications- Various types of drugs are often said to be causing hair fall problems, such as several antibiotics, birth control pills etc.
Medical conditions- Many medical conditions also lead to hair loss problems, such as thyroid , scalp infections etc.
Restrictive Hairstyles- Most people don’t know that even certain hairstyles can cause hair loss. Tight ponytails, buns for example induces hair loss. This many occurs because hair follicles are constantly pulled. This may over time cause permanent hair loss problems.
To curb the issue of hair loss there are many hair loss solutions coming up these days. Treatments for hair loss are mainly categorised as either surgical or non-surgical.Non-surgical methods are cost effective and provide temporary solutions to the problem of hair loss. They are also mostly non-invasive. Non-surgical methods include wigs, weaves, patches, cosmetics and hair extensions.
If you do opt for a hair transplantation, then there is an awkward stage of healing and hair regrowth, where the hair follicles haven’t grown into full fledged hair. It also takes some time for the donor site to heal completely.
This process of healing and hair regrowth raises an important question - Will you hide your hair transplantation? Or, would you share it with the public?
The pressure that men should have good hair has increased over time, and this pressure has led to the inception of many hair loss treatments like hair transplantation. Hair transplantation, in particular, has come a long way in the last few decades. In the yesteryears, it was surrounded with negative perceptions due to surgical risks and inconsistent results. The situation was so dire that people opted not to go through with it and considered being bald as a better option. Some of the main reasons why people felt this way was because they thought that the new hair after the procedure would look ‘unnatural’, and that other people would look down upon them because of it. However, with the advancement of technology in cosmetic science, the whole process of hair transplantation has been revamped. It is now completely seamless and painless, and the final hair regrowth looks completely natural as well.
There are basically two categories of people who get hair transplants. One category includes those who are proud of getting the transplantation. These people enthusiastically embrace the whole process, and they are not ashamed of getting the transplantation done. Their whole experience is like an open book to the world, ask them anything about the process they would explain to you in detail. From visiting the transplantation clinic for the first time to the day where they got the hair transplantation done, they remember everything in the minutest detail. They will tell you about the cost of the entire procedure, the pros and cons, the side effects, the before and after effect of the transplantation. They are ready to explain everything you have doubts about. They would even recommend you the physician that they consulted. In short, these people don’t feel ashamed of any of their decisions, they are happy and open to share their experience with everyone. They feel comfortable about themselves and the decisions that they have made, they see no point in hiding it and they look at it as any other treatment procedure undertaken.
On the other hand, there are people who would rather keep the news of hair transplantation to themselves, taking it to their grave. They feel embarrassed about getting the hair transplantation done, and most in most instances, they don’t even know why they feel ashamed. People spend years hiding their hair loss problems from others, that they feel that their closed ones would judge them if they do reveal the news about getting a hair transplant. Hence, they refrain from even uttering a single word, because to them the subject of hair loss, in itself, is quite embarrassing. They search on the internet privately looking at various ‘before and after’ images of hair transplantation, and feel a sense of hope within themselves. They spend several months, sometimes even years, researching various clinics and the type of procedure they would like to try. And after going through all the scenarios and collecting the courage they finally go through with the procedure.
It takes some time for the newly implanted hair follicles to take root, and grow into hair. And after proper healing and hair regrowth there are no strange colours or incongruities. However, the final results will vary from that no one would know that they have had a hair transplantation done. But, if someone is particularly observant, they might certainly notice the new hair growth. To conclude, whether you are open or private about your hair transplantation is up to you. There is no single right or wrong way to go about it. Getting a hair transplant is a completely personal decision, and so is the one to make it public news, or not.
